Monthly Clubs
Dear Jane Club
​1st Thursday of each month at 1pm
We are having a great time with our handpiecing. Pattye Kent from Bay City has become our fearless leader and is an expert at encouraging quilter's to enjoy the method of needle and thread. Some of the gals are working on Dear Jane the traditional way. Some are trying English Paper Piecing. Some are using wool and some are using cotton. Some of the gals are not working on Dear Jane at all. It's all about loving the needle and thread hand style. The cost is just $10.00 per month. Come on by and see what it is all about – it's a great time. Club Leader: Pattye 


Mission Sewing Club 
the 2nd Friday of the month – 2018 dates – Feb 9th , March 9th , May 11th , June 15th , Sept 14th , Oct 12th and Nov 9th 
Isn't it good to help someone in need and Quilter's do it “sew” well !! We have donated pillowcases to many of our local health agencies and we would like to continue to be bring joy and a touch of sunshine to others but we need your help. We need sewers, cutters and pressers. We need you !! We will provide the free lunch and each time we meet we will have a project and a charity designated for our donation. BOM - Block of the Month
Supply list are available when you sign up for a class or if you reserve your spot by phone you must stop and get the supply list. When coming to a class that involves your machine please bring it in good working order and bring all general quilting supplies, small rotary mat, cutter, pins, scissors, etc. If you are attending a full day class bring a sack lunch or enjoy one our area restaurants and dessert and beverages will be provided. Water and coffee are available always.

Finish it Thursdays 
This has become one of the best days of the week for us here and the classroom at the Backstreet Quilt Shop is all yours – every Thursday, all day and the staff is here to answer questions or to help solve a quilting problem – the fellowship is special and lunch is served at noon. Bring you own lunch or $5.00 per person to cover lunch expense. Beverages and dessert are on the house. Store host: Staff 



Whimpy Challenge Saturday 

2018 dates are: Feb 24th , May 19th , Aug 18th and Dec 8th
Check the date, clear your schedule, mark the calendar but do whatever it takes to join us for the ever popular and fun mystery “Whimpy Challenge Saturday!” When you sign up you will be given a few clues – just enough for you to be prepared for the sewing time and rather it is a fabric exchange mystery or a “married” to your fabric mystery. (“Married” means you get to keep your fabric choice) The day is full of sewing, good food and quilter's fellowship. Our space is limited to 20 and the cost is $20.00 per person Price includes morning break, and lunch. Sewing starts at 9am and we promise to be finished by 5pm. The sewing place is the Farm Bureau Building behind McDonald's Food and Family, Bad Axe.
New Block of the Month Policy effective January 1st 2018.
Our BOM programs are offered on Saturdays in our store making it possible for the majority of quilter's to be able to participate. We strive to price our programs fair and effienct. Here is our new policy concerning the payment method you may choose at the time of sign-up.  
Beginning with any new BOM when you sign up a credit card must be on file. If unable to attend class that month you will be able to pick up your kit on Friday (the day before class) or on the Monday after and receive $5.00 off the kit price. The $5.00 off price is also effective the day of class. But if you are unable to stop by the store on those days, on Tuesday (after the scheduled class) your credit card will be charged the full price for the kit OR this option is also offered: Pay for the entire BOM program on the first day of class in full and receive a 15% discount.  
Kaleidoscope  
by Quilt Addicts Anonymous 
 Starting date: Saturday, March 10th at 9:30 am and continues the second Saturday of each month for one year. Cost: $27.99 per month plus $16.00 for pattern book
This beautiful quilt uses Stonehenge Gradations by Northcott Fabrics. Finishes at 108” square. Brillant colors on a black marbel background. The color changes and the 12 block designs make the pattern look difficult but it can be accomplished by any quilter that can sew a half-square triangle.  

Imagine 
from Art to Heart
Starting date: Saturday, January 27, Feb 24 and March 24th at 9:30 am.  
Cost: $14.99 per month plus $19.00 for pattern book.
This fun Block-of-the-Month quilt celebrates positive and uplighting words for each month. Make the large quilt or celebrate each thought monthly with the individual mini quilts or pillows. Technique class and learning your machines blanket stitch will be offered January-March. Then you will be able to work on your own at home.  

Santa's Coming to Town

Starting Saturday, March 3rd at 9:30 am and continues the first Saturday of each month through September.  
Cost: $34.99 per month plus $24.00 for pattern.
Start in March and just in time for Christmas this 37” by 46” wallhanging will be ready for your holiday decorating. Wool and Woolie flannels
are the featured textures for this project.

Beginning Quilt Making 101  
April 9, 16, 23 and 30
at 5:30 pm. 
  Barbie will teach the basic quilt skills that every quilter needs to know. Rotary cutting, pinning, pressing and how to apply borders. Each week the conversation will answer questions, provide encouragement and help you gain confidence in making your first quilt. Both classes will make a traditional Trip Around the World quilt. Finished size is 67” by 77” Class Fee: $50.00 plus pattern and supplies.
Garland Table Runner

Tuesday, April 17th at 10am.  
This charming spring table runner 22” by 62” will help to welcome spring into your home abundantly. Sew 20 centerpieces worthy to help celebrate each occasion around your table as you welcome a holiday feast, a social soiree, a weekday family dinner. Your table will always extend a warm welcome.  
Class Fee: $15.00 plus book $19.95 and supplies.
Beginner's Bargello
from Phillips Fiber Art.
  Tuesday, May 15th and 
Tuesday, May 22nd 
 at 10 am both days.  
Using the 10 degree wedge ruler and 6 fabrics 1 yd each will make make two 50” round circles that are great table toppers or tree skirts. This method is a great beginners bargello project. Just a stepping stone.  
Class Fee: $25.00 plus pattern $8.98, wedge ruler $19.98 and supplies.
